Former President Donald Trump has raised concerns about the financial practices surrounding Vice President Kamala Harris’s 2024 presidential campaign, particularly focusing on large campaign expenditures and alleged celebrity endorsement payments.
In a recent post on Truth Social, Trump said he was “examining the significant amount of money owed by the Democrats” following the 2024 election cycle. The Harris campaign and related Democratic organizations reportedly ended the campaign with tens of millions of dollars in debt, despite record-breaking fundraising totals over a short period.
Harris officially became the Democratic nominee on July 21, 2024, after President Joe Biden stepped down. In the 80 days that followed, her campaign raised more than $1 billion, with $81 million raised in just the first 24 hours. According to reports, the campaign brought in $310 million in July, $361 million in August, and $378 million in September.
Trump criticized the campaign’s use of celebrity appearances, alleging that some entertainers were paid significant sums without performing. He specifically mentioned an event in Houston where singer Beyoncé was reportedly scheduled to appear but ultimately did not perform. Trump claimed that the audience became frustrated and left the venue after learning she would not take the stage.
