1000-Lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton has revealed she’s lost around 540 pounds since starting her weight loss journey on the TLC show in 2020. At her heaviest, Tammy weighed 725 pounds and relied on a walker, wheelchair, and oxygen tube. Alongside her sister Amy, their combined weight surpassed 1,000 pounds when the show began.
Tammy’s journey has been challenging. She struggled with food addiction, made multiple rehab visits, and tragically lost her husband, Caleb Willingham, in 2023. Despite setbacks, she persevered and eventually qualified for bariatric surgery, which marked a major turning point.
Recently, Tammy spoke with Ezell Film Company, describing how she feels like she’s lost “three versions” of herself. During the pandemic, she initially needed to lose 30 pounds for surgery but gained 100, forcing her to lose 130 total. She succeeded and later underwent skin removal surgery.
Speaking to People, Tammy admitted she was terrified before the procedure, but her recovery amazed doctors. “I came home from Pittsburgh four days early,” she shared.
Now, after shedding over 500 pounds, Tammy is proud of her transformation. “I worked really hard for this,” she said. “And now it’s here.”
