Melania Trump sparks fresh deportation debate as people spot major issue with her US visa

The visa status of Melania Trump, the former First Lady, has come under intense scrutiny amid her husband Donald Trump’s aggressive immigration policies. Over the past week, the former president has threatened to deport various figures, including a New York mayoral candidate from Uganda and his former ally Elon Musk, born in South Africa.

Trump also announced plans for a new migrant detention center in Florida dubbed “Alligator Alcatraz.” Additionally, the Supreme Court limited lower courts’ ability to block Trump’s efforts to restrict birthright citizenship, a move affecting millions of immigrant families.

In support of these policies, Melania Trump visited an immigration detention center in Tucson, Arizona, where she praised ICE officials’ work. However, this visit reignited debate on social media about her own immigration history. Critics uncovered that Melania, originally from Slovenia, had worked in the U.S.
