JD Vance Hosts Charlie Kirk Show from White House
Honoring a Fallen Leader
Vice President JD Vance hosted The Charlie Kirk Show live from the White House on Monday, paying tribute to the late Charlie Kirk. Opening the show, Vance said he was “filling in for somebody who cannot be filled in for,” referencing Kirk’s recent assassination in a politically motivated attack.
Remembering Kirk’s Legacy
Vance acknowledged the grief experienced by Kirk’s family, the administration, and the nation. He emphasized that “every single person in this building” owes something to Kirk. According to Vance, Kirk was “a joyful warrior for our country,” devoted to America and to making it stronger. He credited Kirk with playing a key role in electing Donald Trump and helping him secure the vice presidency, noting that much of the current administration’s early success stems from Kirk’s efforts, support, and friendship.
A Fearless Leader
Vance described Kirk as the most intelligent political operative he had met and a “fearless debater” who inspired young Americans by entering “hostile places” to share ideas. He recalled how Kirk supported students when others hesitated: “When they were afraid to speak their minds, when they feared professors or peers, Charlie was there showing them courage and boldness.”
Visionary and Connector
Kirk was also celebrated as a “visionary” and a “luminary,” credited with building Turning Point USA into a powerful movement. Vance highlighted Kirk’s unique ability to unite people. “He didn’t just teach students how to speak. He didn’t just show them what to say. He created a social network that shaped a generation,” Vance explained. Many met lifelong friends, spouses, and collaborators through TPUSA events, helping to staff the current federal government.
Memorial Service Scheduled
A memorial service for Charlie Kirk is scheduled for Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
