I recently spent $6,500 on a registered Black Angus bull, excited to improve my herd’s genetics. He looked perfect—strong, healthy, and exactly what I was after. I couldn’t wait to see the impact he’d have.But once I introduced him to the cows, my excitement started to fade. Instead of showing interest, he wandered off and grazed. Day after day, he ignored the herd completely. Not once did he try to breed.

Weeks passed, and my frustration grew. I began to wonder if he was too young or just not cut out for breeding. It felt like a bad investment with no payoff in sight.I finally called the vet, who gave him a full check-up and declared him healthy but probably inexperienced. “Give him one of these pills daily,” he said, handing me a bottle of supplements.
