Ileana felt her heart tighten as Rex completely collapsed at her feet.

A pure white dove, radiant, descended from the sky and landed on Ileana’s shoulder.
The bird looked at her with gentle eyes — eyes so much like Rex’s that Ileana shivered.

The dove stayed still for a moment, then took flight, made a perfect circle above the church, and finally disappeared into the blue sky.

The ceremony continued — but it was no longer just an ordinary wedding.
